Williamson County ESD #2 and #9 are local government agencies created by a vote of the public to provide fire protection and emergency medical services (EMS) in specific areas in unincorporated Williamson County. WCESD #2 and #9 Board members are appointed by the Williamson County Commissioners Court at the beginning of each calendar year. Each WCESD Board member serves a 2- year term. Sam Bass Fire Department is contracted by ESD #2 and a section of ESD#9 to provide services for these areas. The governing statute for an ESD is Chapter 775 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

2024 ESD #2 Sales and Use Tax announcement. Vote on November 7th, 2023 passed but results were nullified by the State of Texas Comptrollers Office. Please see announcement letter below. Release date of this announcement is September 23, 2024.
